Tips for preserving and using bananas  

Plastic wrap the banana stems to prolong ripening or prevent overripeness. This reduces ethylene gas, which ripens fruits.  

Dip sliced bananas in lemon or orange juice to prevent browning. The juice's citric acid slows oxidation, keeping bananas fresher.  

Baking brownies, cookies, muffins, and cupcakes with bananas instead of eggs is wonderful. To add moisture and binding to baked goods, substitute one banana for one egg.  

No banana peeling method is improper. To split the banana into two clean, even halves, peel it top and bottom or give it a small tug in the center.
