Timeless Ice Cream Flavors That Have Never Fell Out of Style 

The recipe comes from Naples, Italy, and it features a variety of ice cream tastes compressed into a single block before being sliced and served. 

You can use any ice cream flavor you like in a Neapolitan, but chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry are the most common.  

In this same decade, ice cream cones were also invented. 

A few other names for this frozen dessert delicacy are water ice, iced punch, and sorbet.

It was a common practice to serve it as a palate cleanser during social gatherings in between courses.  

Sherbet was usually made with water and fruit juice, although it would 

occasionally have liqueurs or milk added, and it would be sweetened with honey or sugar.
